The 2026 Mississippi Registered Agent Price Memo

A transparent $99/year for registered agent representation in Mississippi. Address used on filings, same-day legal mail scanning, and compliance reminders are part of the rate.

Consider this page a memo on what registered agent service actually costs in Mississippi. Nine companies appear below with their advertised annual rates, and before any of them comes a disclosure that comparison pages too often bury: Registered Agent MS.org wrote this memo, ranked itself first, and charges the $99 shown in the first row. Our opinion of our own service deserves your skepticism. The prices do not depend on our opinion; each figure repeats what the vendor itself was advertising when we ran our July 2026 price check, and one of them sits below our own.

The Reasoning Behind Our First-Place Row

A memo that awards its author first place owes you the working. Service of process delivered to our Mississippi office is scanned into your online portal and emailed to you the same business day it arrives, and that speed is the core of the job: your window to respond to a lawsuit starts running at the moment of service, not at the moment you learn about it. The fee is $99 in year one and $99 in every year after, with no introductory rate engineered to reset. Checkout contains one service and no add-on menu. Your public filings with the Mississippi Secretary of State show our street address rather than your home or office. The only charge beyond the annual fee is a flat $15 for each piece of ordinary non-legal mail you want scanned, and we would rather print that number here than have you meet it on an invoice.

There is also a statutory dimension worth stating. The Mississippi Registered Agents Act distinguishes commercial agents from noncommercial ones, and commercial agents register with the Secretary of State by paying a $100 listing fee. We operate on the commercial side of that line, and our business office is the same address as the registered office we supply, which is precisely the arrangement § 79-29-113 requires.

Here is a claim we decline to make: that we are the cheapest option in the memo. If price alone ordered these rows, the cheapest registered agent service in Mississippi would be BetterLegal, whose published $90 per year occupies row three. Our $99 places among the lowest flat annual prices available in the state, keeps same-day scanning inside the fee rather than beside it, and renews at an identical figure every year. That combination, not the absolute bottom price, is what we would shop for ourselves.

2. Northwest Registered Agent

Disclosure is what secures Northwest second place. The complete price schedule sits in public view: formation customers receive their first year at no additional charge, renewal bills $125 annually anywhere from one through four states of registration, and the figure eases to $100 for each state from the fifth onward. Support calls reach actual staff, and the company has protected customer privacy for years without a notable stumble. What keeps it out of first place on a value-focused site is the $26 gap between its renewal and ours, a gap that repeats annually for as long as you stay.

3. BetterLegal

BetterLegal publishes $90 per year, the lowest disclosed figure in this memo, and deserves credit for printing it plainly. The gap in the record is the first year: our July 2026 verification pinned down the renewal while leaving the initial term's billing unestablished. A price confirmed at every stage of the relationship ranks ahead of one confirmed only at renewal. If the lowest possible sticker is your deciding factor, this is the service to investigate, and the checkout terms are the place to investigate it.

4. Rocket Lawyer

Rocket Lawyer sets its agent fee at $125 per year and holds it there at every membership level, with no introductory discount that later expires. The complication is composition: registered agent duty comes as one component of a wider legal membership that also carries document templates and attorney consultations. Subscribers who use those tools receive reasonable value for the money. A business that needs only a Mississippi agent is paying partly for a platform it may never open.

5. ZenBusiness

No one in this group has built a more polished dashboard than ZenBusiness, and the software praise is deserved. The pricing warrants a second look: a standalone purchase starts at $99 plus state fees, and every year after the first bills at the $199 renewal rate. Evaluate the service at $199, because that is the rate every subsequent year bills. The $99 is the doorway, not the room.

6. Bizee (formerly Incfile)

Bizee, the company previously named Incfile, includes agent coverage at no charge inside its LLC formation packages; depending on the tier purchased, the free period spans three months up to a full year. For someone forming an LLC regardless, those covered months carry real worth. The obligation that accompanies them is date-tracking: once the included period ends, standalone billing begins at $149 per year, and nothing in the package makes it Bizee's job to warn you which month that happens.

7. LegalZoom

LegalZoom carries the most recognized name in online legal services and charges $249 per year for agent service, on automatic renewal, with no first-year reduction our check could find. That is the highest fixed price in the memo. Mississippi law asks the identical task of every agent at every price: maintain a street address in the state, be present during business hours, deliver what arrives. Whether the name justifies a rate more than double ours is a judgment we leave with you.

8. Swyft Filings

Swyft Filings structures its billing quarterly at $149, which annualizes to roughly $596, the highest total cost in this comparison once the four quarters are summed. Our check found no first-year discount to soften it. The quarterly structure has a side effect worth naming: no single page in the purchase flow presents the yearly total. This memo just did.

9. Inc Authority

Inc Authority hands over year one of agent service at $0 and declines to publish what happens afterward. Our July 2026 check covered the company's homepage, FAQ section, and premium package descriptions and surfaced no renewal figure anywhere, which typically means the number appears at checkout or over the phone. Unpublished renewal pricing ranks at the bottom of this memo on principle: a comparison cannot compare a rate the vendor will not print, and a buyer should not commit to one.

Mississippi Filed Its Last Paper Form Around 2013

Here is the single most useful thing to understand about Mississippi before hiring any national filing company: this state does not do paper. Business filings go through the Secretary of State's online portal, and they have since the system launched around 2013, when the state phased out paper forms. The F-numbers on the state fee schedule, F0100 for an LLC's formation document and F0010 for an agent change, are the portal's internal filing-type codes, not documents anyone downloads, prints, or mails.

That matters when you read vendor websites. National providers write one instruction set and reuse it across fifty states, which is why their Mississippi guides sometimes direct you to download a form and mail it with a check. In Mississippi, that advice describes a filing system retired more than a decade ago. Notice the document name, too: a Mississippi LLC files a Certificate of Formation, not Articles of Organization, under § 79-29-201, and the state charges $50 for it under § 79-29-1203(1)(d). A vendor page that names the document incorrectly for Mississippi has not looked closely at Mississippi.

Changing Agents Costs $10, and There Is No Form to Find

Suppose you hire one of the services above and later regret the choice. Mississippi prices that correction at $10, one of the gentler switch fees in the country. The mechanics surprise people: there is no change-of-agent form. The Secretary of State's own business FAQ explains that agent changes are handled as an amendment inside the online portal, and the fee schedule lists the filing under code F0010 at $10. So when a competitor's help article instructs Mississippi customers to complete "the change form," it is quoting fifty-state boilerplate rather than this state's actual procedure. When you enroll with us, we prepare that amendment as part of onboarding, and the $10 to the state is the only government charge involved.

The Annual Report Is Free. The Deadline Is Not Decorative

Ready when you are. Ordering takes about five minutes.

Mississippi charges a domestic LLC nothing, literally $0, to file its required annual report. The report is due each April 15, the filing window opens January 1, the first one falls in the calendar year after formation, and the state accepts it online only. The Secretary of State's annual reports page holds the official details.

Two conclusions belong in a price memo. First, about the vendors: several companies in the table sell annual report filing as a paid add-on or fold it into a compliance subscription. In Mississippi, the product underneath that line item is a filing the state prices at zero, so the entire fee is markup on something the state gives away. Second, about the deadline: free does not mean optional. Mississippi assesses no late fee, but roughly 60 days after April 15 the Secretary of State can issue a notice of intent to administratively dissolve the company, with a statutory cure period under § 79-29-217 before dissolution becomes final. The valuable service here is not the filing, it is the reminder that April is approaching, and reminders come inside our $99 rather than on a separate receipt. Our annual report guide walks through the filing itself.

Where the Memo Leaves You

Every service in the table satisfies Mississippi's requirements for a registered agent under the Registered Agents Act, so the law will not narrow your choice. Price and handling will. At the top of the market, $249 buys a famous name. At the bottom, $90 buys the lowest sticker attached to an unverified first year. Our position is the practical middle: $99 that never changes, service of process scanned the day it arrives, a Mississippi street address keeping yours off the public record, and April 15 tracked on your behalf. If that matches what your business needs, enrollment is brief and portal credentials follow within one business day.
