LegalZoom Bills $249. Mississippi Defines One Job.
A transparent $99/year for registered agent representation in Mississippi. Address used on filings, same-day legal mail scanning, and compliance reminders are part of the rate.
This page was written by a company that wants your business. Registered Agent MS.org holds a Mississippi registered agent appointment for $99 annually, and every LegalZoom customer who moves over becomes revenue for us. Treat our praise of ourselves accordingly. The LegalZoom pricing reproduced here is not our opinion of anything; it is that company's published rate, recorded during a July 2026 check and left untouched.
What the Brand Actually Buys
Recognition has value, and LegalZoom has more of it than anyone else selling business filings in this country. A buyer who has never done this before knows the name, can find reviews going back two decades, and can reasonably assume the company will still exist in five years. That last point is not trivial when you are choosing an entity to hold a legal appointment indefinitely. LegalZoom also runs a genuine legal-services operation around the agent product, so if you expect to need attorney access, trademark work, or document drafting from one vendor, the breadth is real and this page will not pretend it is imaginary.
$249, Flat, Renewing Automatically
LegalZoom prices registered agent service at $249 per year. Our check turned up nothing to soften it: no starter rate, no complimentary opening term, no cheaper tier hiding behind a different package name. The figure renews automatically. Structurally there is nothing devious about that; the price you see is the price you keep paying, which is more than several competitors can say. The difficulty is the size of it relative to the work.
| LegalZoom | Registered Agent MS.org | |
|---|---|---|
| Year one | $249 | $99 |
| Every year after | $249, auto-renewing | $99 |
| Five-year spend | $1,245 | $495 |
A hundred and fifty dollars a year, repeating, is the entire question on this page.
The Statute Does Not Grade on Reputation

Order HereMississippi rewrote its agent rules in the Mississippi Registered Agents Act, § 79-35-1 and following, which took effect at the start of 2013 and sorts agents into commercial and noncommercial classes. Commercial agents pay a $100 listing fee to appear on the Secretary of State's roster. We are on that roster. So is every large national vendor operating here. What the Act asks of all of us is one thing: keep a staffed physical Mississippi address and accept what gets delivered to it. There is no premium tier of the legal obligation that $249 unlocks and $99 does not.
Our version of the job: papers served at our Mississippi office are scanned into your portal and emailed out the same business day they land, because the clock on a lawsuit response starts at service rather than at discovery. Your filings display our address instead of your home. One plan, one price, no menu of upgrades waiting at checkout. Mississippi's annual report deadline of April 15 goes on your reminder schedule at no separate charge, which is worth noting given that the domestic LLC report itself costs the state's filers exactly nothing.
What we will not say is that nobody charges less. BetterLegal prints $90 on its own site, a figure below ours, and pretending otherwise on a page made of competitors' prices would be indefensible. The defensible version: $99 ranks among the lowest flat annual rates in Mississippi and carries same-day handling inside the fee rather than alongside it.
Switching From LegalZoom Inside the Mississippi Portal
Mississippi handles this through an amendment rather than a dedicated filing, at the Secretary of State's Business Services Division, for $10. The whole thing happens inside the state's online business portal; the fee schedule tags the transaction F0010, and that code is a portal category rather than a paper form you go looking for. Anyone who tells you to mail something is describing a system Mississippi shut down years ago.
Order of operations decides whether this goes smoothly. Retain the replacement agent first, submit the amendment second, verify on the state's business search third, and only then close the LegalZoom subscription. Do it that way and coverage never lapses, because LegalZoom remains your agent of record right up until the state processes the change. Do it backward and you spend an unknown number of days with a public filing that names a company no longer working for you. The detailed screen-by-screen version lives on our Mississippi change of agent page.
One timing note specific to an auto-renewing product: the $249 will not warn you before it charges. Start the amendment a few weeks ahead of your renewal date, not after the receipt arrives.
