Rocket Lawyer Sells a Platform. You May Only Need the Address.
A transparent $99/year for registered agent representation in Mississippi. Address used on filings, same-day legal mail scanning, and compliance reminders are part of the rate.
Disclosure before analysis, since the analysis is not neutral. Registered Agent MS.org is a Mississippi registered agent service priced at $99 a year, this page exists to win business away from Rocket Lawyer, and we benefit financially if it works. The Rocket Lawyer pricing quoted below is a separate matter entirely: it is that company's published rate from a July 2026 check, reported as found.
Not a Teaser, and We Should Say So
The agent fee at Rocket Lawyer is $125 annually, and it does not move whether you hold the least expensive membership or the most expensive one. There is no introductory rate that resets, no first-year discount that quietly doubles, no tier-based pricing designed to move you upmarket. In a category where teaser pricing is close to standard practice, consistency deserves acknowledgment, and plenty of pages like this one would skip past it. We are starting with it.
The company is also a real legal platform rather than a filing shop with a login screen. Document templates, attorney consultations, and a subscription that covers a range of ordinary small-business legal needs all sit around the agent product. For a business that opens those tools regularly, the money is doing several jobs at once.
The Question Is Whether You Open the Platform
Registered agent service inside Rocket Lawyer is one component of a broader legal membership. That is the structure, and whether it is a bargain or a leak depends entirely on your usage. A Mississippi business that drafts contracts monthly and calls an attorney twice a year is getting value the $125 alone does not describe. A Mississippi business whose only requirement was a lawful in-state address on one line of a public record is funding a library it never enters.
| Rocket Lawyer | Registered Agent MS.org | |
|---|---|---|
| Agent service | $125/year | $99/year |
| Price at other tiers | $125, unchanged | No tiers exist |
| What surrounds it | Legal platform and membership | One Mississippi appointment |
Twenty-six dollars a year is the visible gap. The invisible one is everything in the membership you will not open, and only you can price that.
A Narrow Product, Described Narrowly
Ready when you are. Ordering takes about five minutes.
Order HereWe do one thing in one state. Papers served at our Mississippi registered office are imaged into your account and emailed to you before that business day is over, which is the part of this job that carries actual risk, since a response window opens the moment service happens and not the moment you find out about it. Our address, not yours, appears on the record at the Secretary of State. State correspondence gets flagged and the April 15 report deadline gets tracked. Ninety-nine dollars, renewing at ninety-nine dollars, with nothing on the checkout page but the service itself.
Cheapest is a word we cannot use. BetterLegal publishes $90 annually, below our figure, and a comparison assembled from other companies' price pages does not get to omit the one that undercuts it. Ours is among the lowest flat annual rates offered in Mississippi and it does not change shape at renewal.
What It Takes to Replace Rocket Lawyer as Your Mississippi Agent
Mississippi is a portal state, and that changes the instructions almost every national provider publishes. Filings run through the Secretary of State's business portal at corp.sos.ms.gov, paper was retired here more than a decade ago, and the agency's own business FAQ says outright that Mississippi no longer maintains a standalone document for this purpose. The change is executed as an amendment to your entity record. On the official fee schedule that amendment appears under the code F0010 at $10, filed with the Business Services Division. F0010 is a filing-type identifier the portal uses for accounting, not a PDF sitting on a server waiting to be printed.
So the practical steps are short. Sign in to the portal with the credentials tied to your entity, open the amendment for the registered agent and registered office, enter the incoming agent's name and Mississippi street address, and pay ten dollars by card at submission. Mississippi offers no expedited option, and it does not need one; portal filings post quickly and the confirmation arrives by email.
The ordering rule is the part worth memorizing. Mississippi will not let you install an agent who has not consented, which means the replacement has to be engaged before the amendment can be completed, and Rocket Lawyer keeps the appointment right up to the moment the state records the substitution. Engage, file, verify on the business search, cancel. Handle the cancellation before the verification and your public record will spend some number of days naming a provider whose subscription you have already ended. Our change of agent walkthrough covers the portal fields one at a time.
There is one more reason to act deliberately rather than abruptly. If you cancel a Rocket Lawyer membership, you are canceling the document tools alongside the agent service. Decide whether you want both gone or only one.
