ZenBusiness Opens at $99. It Settles at $199.

A transparent $99/year for registered agent representation in Mississippi. Address used on filings, same-day legal mail scanning, and compliance reminders are part of the rate.

Begin with the conflict of interest. Registered Agent MS.org publishes this comparison and collects $99 whenever a Mississippi business hires us instead of ZenBusiness, so our conclusion was settled before the writing started. The arithmetic was not. Every ZenBusiness number below is that company's own advertised figure as of a July 2026 price check, reproduced without adjustment or spin.

Their Interface Deserves Its Reputation

ZenBusiness has assembled the most refined customer console in this industry, and denying it would cost us your attention inside the first minute. Formation history, renewal dates, and delivered documents sit together behind a single login, laid out well enough that someone running their first company can operate it without help. If a unified business dashboard is the thing you actually want, buy the dashboard. We do not build one. We hold a Mississippi address, watch it during business hours, and issue one invoice a year for doing so.

The Opening Rate and the Standing Rate Are Different Products

Bought by itself, detached from any formation order, ZenBusiness agent service opens at $99 plus the state's fees and then renews at $199. Both figures are published; neither is a trick. The failure happens in the comparison, when a shopper places somebody's introductory rate beside somebody else's permanent rate and treats the two as the same measurement. The honest question is what year six looks like. For ZenBusiness it looks like $199. For us it looks like $99.

There is a single plan here because a second one was never designed. The year costs $99, and the renewal notice carries that same number for as long as you stay. Inside it: anything a process server hands us at the Mississippi registered office gets imaged into your account before the working day closes, with an email chasing it; your public record with the Secretary of State shows our street address rather than the one where you sleep; and we flag state correspondence that touches your entity. Routine non-legal mail is the lone optional item, imaged at $15 apiece, and we would rather you read that figure here than discover it on a statement.

The claim we have to decline is cheapest. BetterLegal advertises $90 annually. That figure sits under ours, and a page built entirely out of everyone else's published prices has no business leaving out the one that beats it. The accurate sentence: $99 belongs among the lowest flat annual rates a Mississippi business can buy, and it belongs to the much smaller set of prices that have not moved by the sixth renewal.

Leaving ZenBusiness in Mississippi: A $10 Amendment, No Form

Here is where Mississippi differs from almost every state a national vendor writes instructions for. There is no change-of-agent form in this state. None exists to download, print, sign, or mail. Business filings moved into the Secretary of State's online portal at corp.sos.ms.gov when the state retired paper roughly a dozen years ago, and a registered agent change now runs through that portal's amendment path. The state fee schedule carries the transaction as code F0010 at $10. That F number is an internal filing-type label the portal assigns, not a document with a header and signature block.

Two consequences follow. First, if a help article aimed at Mississippi customers tells you to complete "the change form," it was written for a different state and pasted across. Second, the exit is genuinely cheap. Ten dollars is about five percent of one ZenBusiness renewal, which means in Mississippi a renewal price has to justify itself on the merits every year, because leaving costs roughly what a lunch costs.

The sequencing rule matters more than the fee. Your incoming agent has to exist before the amendment can name one, so the order runs hire, file, confirm on the public record, then cancel at ZenBusiness. Reverse those last two steps and the state record keeps pointing at a company you have stopped paying, which is the only bad outcome available in this whole procedure. Mississippi also expects the appointment to be substantive. Whatever address goes into the agent field has to be a genuine street location in this state where the agent keeps an office, not a forwarding box aimed somewhere else. Ours qualifies. Our change of agent walkthrough covers the portal screens in order.

Nothing on the Mississippi calendar will prompt this filing for you. Put it on your own calendar, ideally about a month ahead of whenever ZenBusiness bills next.
